I have always used my All Purpose Cleaner to clean, especially on my kitchen appliances. I loved how easily it took of burnt on food or dirty finger prints and with barely any scrubbing. When we moved I found out it DOES NOT work on stainless steel.
I was fed up with having a dirty looking kitchen. I knew it wasn’t dirty but it was streaky, which looks dirty to me. I decided to look around for stainless steel cleaners on Pinterest. All I could find was a bunch of double stepped processes. I don’t know about you but I really don’t have time to spray with vinegar and wipe then buff with olive oil. I want a cleaner I can spray on, wipe off and move on.
I was inspired to create a new cleaner just for stainless steel. A cleaner that could be sprayed on and wiped off quickly, one that could clean finger prints and still leave a nice shine to the stainless steel. I am so happy with how my stainless steel cleaner turned out, I decided to share it you all. Sharing is Caring!
If you are tired of streaks on your stainless steel or looking for an environmentally friendly and cheap solution to clean your stainless steel, try my new recipe. It is fast, easy and cheap to make. It cost less than $2.00 to make, especially if you get the spray bottle at the Dollar Tree.
Homemade Stainless Steel Cleaner
- 1/2 cup White Vinegar
- 1/3 cup Olive Oil
- 5 cups Hot Water
- 15 drops Lemon Essential Oil
Mix all ingredients together in the spray bottle and shake well. SHAKE REALLY WELL!!
The oil will separate from both the vinegar and water. After a good shake spray the cleaner directly on your stainless steel and wipe off with a towel, rag, paper towel or microfiber cloth. It’s as easy as that, and now you have a nice clean surface with no tiny finger prints.
If you want an extra shine to your stainless steel appliances add a few drops of Olive Oil on your cloth and go back over your appliance. The Olive Oil will act as a wax for the stainless steel, leaving it nice and shiny.
I don’t know about you but I am very happy to have streak free appliances and a recipe that uses ingredients I already had at home. Another plus is that this cheap and easy recipe is safe for the entire family to use and is not harmful to the environment.
